Frequently Asked Questions

What are the venue capacities?

  • Dineen Lounge: 60 standing, 32 seated
  • The Vault: 230 standing, 100 seated
  • The King York Terrace: 220 inside, 350 outside

Can I bring in more furniture?

Yes. We work closely with Chairman Mills, who know our spaces well and come highly recommend.

Can we remove all the furniture?

No. We might be able to store a few items in hallways or unused boardrooms, but we cannot confirm that all furniture can be removed.

Are you licensed?

No, however, many of the caterers on our preferred list are licensed and if you hire them, they will arrange this. Otherwise, obtaining an SOP (Special Occasion Permit) is a simple process that your CM can explain to you in an email.

How late in the evening can events go?

Events can go until 2:00 AM, by which time all guests must be gone. Tear-down can exceed this timing

Can we have open flames?

Open flames are permitted at The Dineen Lounge and The King York Terrace, but not inside The Vault.

Do you have on-site catering?

No, however, we have a list of preferred caterers who know our spaces and expectations well. Our chosen caterers have never let us down and were selected for their superb cuisine and exceptional service. You must contact them directly for menus and pricing, so download their contact information here.

Is there a landmark fee for catering?

Yes. Our landmark fee is 10% for preferred caterers and 20% for others. A landmark fee is a percentage of the total caterer invoice which is charged to the client on the catering invoice, then forwarded to the venue.

Can we use a caterer who is not on the preferred list?

Yes, but please note that you will pay a landmark fee of 20%, which is higher than the fee for our preferred caterers (see above).

Do we need liability insurance?

Yes. Many clients get this by tacking on liability insurance to their existing business insurance for one day; another option is to purchase it from a separate insurance company, such as PAL. iQ must be mentioned as an insured party in the contract.

Do we require security?

Security is required when alcohol is being served and the event has 75 or more guests. Pricing varies by location.

Is there parking at the venues?

None of our venues have parking but are all are located close to public transit, and each has numerous parking lots and garages within walking distance.
